The company secretarial and corporate governance landscape in Ireland underwent many changes in 2019. The introduction of the European Union (Anti-Money Laundering: Beneficial Ownership of Corporate Entities) Regulations 2019 was the most significant. This was the first time a mandatory obligation was placed on designated corporate entities to publicly disclose their beneficial ownership on a central register.
